JAMAICA
BLUE MOUNTAIN
COFFEE FESTIVAL
CARIBBEAN'S PREMIER COFFEE FESTIVAL
The Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee festival has traditionally taken place in the hills of the world renowned Blue Mountains on historic grounds in Newcastle. It has been a three day experience filled with food, coffee and culture and has showcased indigenous arts and crafts, live performances and one of a kind experiences.
Organized as a joint initiative by the Tourism Linkages Network and key stakeholders, the 5th staging of the festival will continue to embody our culture as we seek to celebrate our homegrown coffee.
This year, as the festival embraces a month-long celebration of activities and events, we invite you to join us for a fully immersive experience from farm to cup (and plate). The festival is designed as Jamaica’s flagship coffee festival, demonstrating our rich tradition of coffee production in the Blue Mountains region and showcases Blue Mountain Coffee, coffee-related products, and the diversity of coffee, and explores the coffee culture in Jamaica, taking the lead from talented baristas and creative culinary artistes.
We invite you to discover the journey of coffee. Starting up in the lush Blue Mountains, come and visit some of Jamaica's coffee farm, as well sample the gastronomic delights on the heralded Blue Mountain Culinary Trail. Hike and bike the Blue Mountains also, to discover the true magic of what makes Blue Mountain Coffee so unique.
On April 2, the festivities will culminate with the Festival Marketplace—an extravaganza featuring local arts and crafts, coffee purveyors, food stalls, tastings, demonstrations and musical entertainment—bringing together local and international coffee connoisseurs, coffee suppliers, foodies and other interested parties.
You may also "Browse. Brew. Buy." at our Sip & Shop promotion in conjunction with retailers and cafes island-wide to ignite the senses to our home grown goodness of Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee and inspired coffee products, with special offers and discounts.

Our Festival Marketplace Location: Jamaica Defense Force Training Camp, Newcastle
Nestled in the cool hills of upper St. Andrew and amidst beautiful trees, ferns, ground orchids, delicate wildflowers and a profusion of ginger lilies, is the Newcastle Training Depot founded in 1841 by Major General Sir William Maynard Gomm (later Field Marshall). Over time, Newcastle became a training depot, training recruits from all over the West Indies as part of the newly formed West Indies Federation.
In 1962 when Jamaica sought her independence, Newcastle was given to the Jamaican government as part of a general settlement of all military lands in Jamaica. Since then the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) has operated Newcastle and it is presently used as the JDF Training Depot to train recruits and to conduct cadres and other refresher courses.
Each year, the Jamaica Defense Force kindly grants the use of their training camp to the Jamaica Blue Mountain Festival, which hosts over 40 coffee-related exhibitors, sponsors and live musical performances. For the 2020 staging of Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee Festival, the JDF will offer tours of their newly opened museum.
